-Leopold Kroenecker
The man that first started thinking about the concept of infinity, Cantor, met some major opposition in the form of his old mentor, Kroenecker. I enjoyed the quote :D
So on Wednesday the smoke alarm wen off at 2 in the morning. My intial response was 'oh it's nothing, someone's just cooking' and I went back to sleep. Which, in retrospect, is a terrible reaction to have to a smoke detector. Andrew knocked on my door saying that it was going off and I figured that I should probably get up... The house wasn't on fire, our best guess is that the next door neighbors had a fire and the smoke blew in.
I went to class and took a Spanish test, then got a bike to borrow from Pastor Glen on a semi-permanent basis - I need to get ready for Bikers For Jesus in August.
It was a beautiful day, so I ate my lunch outside. We also had our fellowship committee meeting outside. I'm excited - we're going to have a barn dance on the weekend after Easter, that'll be fun :D
After the meeting, I relaxed in a hammock, reading. That was nice, I want a hammock.
I've been working on trying to have good posture, so the result is that my back hurts a pretty good deal now O.o It'll be worth it though, I just hope it works.
Thursday I had class, then I needed to get groceries - much as I didn't want to get milk before spring break and let it sit. Then I had lunch with my big and grandbig :D We had a pretty good conversation about football - yay family :]
So since earlier this month I've been planning on going home this weekend, since I wouldn't be there over spring break, to surprise my family. As the week went on, I realised that this weekend wasn't the best time to go home because I had a lot to do, but I really really didn't care. I've gotten rather excited about going.
At the house dinner, we were mostly wondering where everyone was - you'd think we were a group that was involved or something.
After dinner, I went to play ultimate and was asking the same question - at first it was me and Dale, then five others came so we were able to play. And then I had to do homework O.o Yay procrastination...
Friday it was all rainy, so that was annoying after the great week we've had.
But then I was going home! I got there at about 4.30, and then Dad got home at 4.50 - he told me that Mom had badminton practice until 7 so I went there to see her.
Surprise :D It worked :]
We had Lou's (Dad and Ricky) or Uno's (me and Mom) pizza for dinner, and then watched most of The Dark Knight - that's a long movie, so we didn't get all the way through.
Saturday I woke up after Mom and Ricky left for their respective practices, so I spent the morning with Dad. Once practices were over, we all went to lunch and then to Verizon to change phones - we've disliked AT&T for a while now. We relaxed at home for a while.
The list of 'Classic Movies Carly's Never Seen' has been shortened once more - we watched The Godfather that night :]
Sunday I woke up and didn't want to leave... But we (well, me, Mom and Dad since Ricky has church all day on Sundays) had a yummy waffle breakfast :] While getting ready, I watched Mamma Mia with my mom :D
Then it was off to drive. I made some really good time, I made the 2.5+ hour drive in 2 hours and 5ish minutes :]
I went to church and had dinner, then helped clean up after.
At chapter I did pretty well on my quiz and then got to talk with Reed Koester (fellow BIT) - I like her, we get along pretty well :]
And now I have to figure out what to write a persuasive paper about, then write a rough draft. I hate picking my own topic O.o Wish me luck.
