You can sleep when you're dead.

At least that's what I keep telling myself when I wake up and just want to go back to sleep.
Last Wednesday I got up to go workout, and it was cold! I went to my classes and chilled at Wesley to read during my breaks, like usual. After orchestra, Geoff and I watched Brave. The TV was taken, so we went to the laptops. His laptop has a good battery, mine has the working disc drive and a mongo screen - it's a good thing they're both dells so I could steal his battery! :]
Thursday I went to my classes and then had a ton of time to get dinner and do some homework before the GABS game. We won! But our call time was 7.45, and it was an 8.30 game so it was so late when I got back to my room... And of course, by late I mean it was 11p, but when I like to go to bet at 9 that is late.
Friday I told myself that I can sleep when I'm dead when I didn't want to get up at 5.15. I managed, and when I walked into the gym it was chilly and cloudy. After my workout, I walked out and thought 'where did all this snow come from?' It snowed all morning too, so I got to walk to classes in snow :]
I got dinner with Larn, it was good to catch up with her again. And then I went over to Geoff's to hang for a while.
Then Saturday I read. All. Day. I parked myself on the couch in the second floor common room under a blanket with my kindle and went to town. I had work at 5, but it was a sound shift which meant I got to read some more! (Just for perspective, I'm reading a series called Into the Wilderness and it took me about 10 days to read the third book, with school and whatnot. I finished the fourth one in three days.)
Sunday Was time for First Degree! We usually go as a chapter with the newest class to Triple XXX before to get some breakfast, but there's only 48 seats in the place and there were 36 of us with just my class and the new younglings, so we kept it to just that group. It was fun getting to see First from the perspective of an active, not as one of the ones going through the ritual. And it seemed shorter than it did last year, but that might have been the whole not actually going through it part.
After First Degree, I got to hang with Geoff some more. Joe had never seen the last few episodes of Firefly, so we watched those, and evidently Joe and Dexter watched Serenity (the movie wrap-up to the series) while Geoff and I had chapter.
Yesterday I really didn't want to get up. I had stayed up later than I wanted on Sunday night, so I was extremely tired. So, I told myself that if I did get up, I would get to take a nap during one of my breaks later in the day.
So I got up and went to workout, then went to my EAS class and then it was time for my nap! I walked into Wesley and greeted Glen, then told him that I had promised myself a nap and so not to be offended when I didn't sit in the breezeway to talk with him :]
I went to my other 2 classes for the day, then orchestra and after that I did some homework and watched Invader Zim with Seth and Michael :D
Today it was beautiful, so of course I woke up too late to go on a run. Curses.
I went to my ballet class and then to Wesley for lunch, where we watched it start to torrentially downpour. And I had my iPad and my kindle in my bookbag, so my little umbrella wasn't going to cut it. I borrowed a golf umbrella from Wesley and went to my second class, and my bag was dry! That was nice :]
After that, I went to Elliott to inventory the closet of Psi merchandise  As the head of the finances committee, I'm the one that takes care of all that. One of the members of my committee helped me out, so it wasn't too bad :] And now I'm typing this out and wondering if I'll get this week's post done at my normal time - it's going to be Superbowl Sunday after all. I can't make any guarantees :]
I'll do what I can. Till then,

My laptop battery sucks now - 40 min and it's toast.

It went to sleep part way through typing this up. Luckily it had just saved :]
And goodness, it's been quite the week.
Last Tuesday, like a week ago, I didn't do much - just went to classes and worked on homework. Woo, what a day...
Wednesday it was pretty chilly when I got up to workout, and didn't get much better when I was going to classes. I put some clothes in the dryer to de-wrinkle and started a load of towels around 4p. I then played Lego Star Wars and watched basketball with Geoff, and then realized at 10p that the dryer was still going, and when I took my clothes out they were cold. That was weird, but I went ahead and switched them out.
And when I woke up Thursday, the dryer was still going. I think it might be broken...
I went to ballet and Wesley, where it was fairly quiet for being a Thursday. (Usually Fridays are the quietest day of the week.) After Linear Algebra, I turned in my EAS homework because there was a GABS game that evening and I knew I wouldn't have time in between that and 8am Friday, when it was due.
The game was fun, we won! I enjoy playing toobah :D
Friday I got up to workout and went to classes, same old same old. And I obviously have all the popularity - after watching Seth play Skyrim for like 2 hours, a bunch of people went to Lafayette Brewing Co. for a talk, and you had to be over 21 to go. (They keep telling me to hurry up and turn 21 already, I tell them to blame my parents - I didn't have much of a say in it :] )
And when everyone left I was the only one in the house (excepting perhaps Payton - you'd never really know...) So it was Beauty and the Beast time! I changed into my pjs, cddled up with my teddy bear and a blanket and put the movie on the big tv - I was a happy camper :D
Saturday I helped out with Jazz Fest - a festival where various high school jazz bands can come and play for judges. Which is cool, except for the fact that it was slightly boring for me. So I spent most of my time talking to Carla - one of my Psi brothers. We were runners, but the people at our station didn't need anything ran for them. But it was fun getting to chat with her, and some other people that were walking around :]
After that I had work, which involved spending more boring hours in the Union/Stewart area. I was on sound, but it was a lectern for the faculty lounges which is the easiest thing ever. So I helped out with the events, but it wasn't the most fun shift I've ever had. But I got to meet Coach Hazell! That was pretty nifty :]
Sunday I got some homework done, then I had nothing planned so I got to hang with Geoff all afternoon. And we both managed to forget that it was in fact Sunday, so we missed the football. But at least the Patriots aren't in the Superbowl, and Kyle got the Harbaugh bowl that he was wanting last year.
Yesterday was time for Psi interviews. ALL DAY. We interviewed people in the morning, then talked about who we wanted to extend bids to. Yay for 19 bids! And then we got Buffalo Wild Wings after! We kinda took over the restaurant because the sisters were there too, they had their interviews yesterday as well.
And when I got back to the house I passed out - it was a long day.
Today I woke up to discover that I had left my space heater on all night, I usually set it on the timer when I go to bed. But I wasn't too sad when I saw the weather: 3 degrees, feels like -12. And I had volunteered to help Donna take some band stuffs back to high schools that we had borrowed it from at 7.30a, so it was shaping up to be a fun morning. And then, when I got to Elliott, the truck wouldn't start. So Donna and I took a 1.5 hr nap, and then it was ready! Neither of us had class till noon, so we were ok.
However, I didn't have time to pack my lunch before walking to ballet so after class I had to go buy lunch.
And after my linear class, I've been home working on homework and relaxing. It's been quite nice :]
So yeah, that's why this entry is so late. Hope it was worth it!
Later.

Well, one good thing about feeling like crap is it gives you an excuse to look like crap...

Nothing like getting sick to completely throw off your plans for getting back into the swing of school...
My family passed around a bug over winter break, and I caught it just in time to come back to Indiana (yay... O.o) When I got back on Sunday I felt fine, just a sore throat. However after sleeping in my icebox of a room, I felt like death when I woke up Monday morning, and that continued into Tuesday. And I was going to workout Monday morning... Oh well.
I went to classes, and then saw Catherine at Wesley - she and Mario got engaged! So I got to see her pretty ring and look through bridal magazines with her, and Lisa joined the party when she got there too - Mario was laughing at us, but we had fun :]
We had a shorter orchestra, and evidently Andy needs me to play bass again this semester, and when I got back to the house I was going to go to Kroger since I have no food. However, I decided that sleep was in order for me, so I went ahead and slept instead.
Tuesday I was going to run, but I felt like crap. I already hate being sick, and that bug was throwing off my workout schedule too so it was even more annoying. And I still had no food.
However, I had time until my first class so I took along steamy shower, then went to the grocery store.
And then it was time for my first ballet class! I'm super excited about taking that. After my second class of the day, I went to get ballet stuffs (I needed a leotard, tights and shoes) and a haircut - so now my hair is back to the length I like it at :]
I was hungry when I got back to the house, and I had food! :] I made myself some ravioli and cleaned up my room (like unpacked from break and put the food away - I hadn't yet). All in all it was a rather productive day, I was proud of myself :]
Wednesday I got up and hit the CoRec at 6am, and I was actually feeling good! And then I realized how tired I was... so I slept between EAS and Spanish :]
Then had lunch between Spanish and Stat - these two hour breaks are weird.
Pam scheduled a GABS rehearsal on Wednesday evening, so I told her that I had orchestra and wouldn't be able to go. Once I was at Elliott, I learned that we were ending orchestra early so that GABS could rehearse. So I didn't have any of my things with me. Oops. We got new music and played a song that was super easy, so I did pretty well. Especially well, actually, since I hadn't touched a tuba since early December... :D
Thursday I got up feeling like crap again, which was annoying since I had been feeling good the previous night too. I went for a run, which I had to cut short because my lungs hurt so that was less than fun. And then  my voice was all raspy, it wasn't the best or mornings.
But then it was time for ballet - yay! It's really nice to have a class where I can unwind a bit.
I got my lunch at Wesley, and it seems like I could quickly be discovering a routine. I went to math, and then had nothing to do! We had house dinner, and a bunch of people said they would prefer Monday nights instead of Thursdays, so I informed them that I wouldn't be at a single one (unless orchestra were to be cancelled).
Friday I got up and drove to the CoRec, and on the way I discovered that I had no voice. Like at first there wasn't even noise coming through my voicebox. That was a promising start...
I did my workout, and slowly was able to actually make noises again. Thankfully I didn't have to talk all that much in my classes since I sounded just lovely...
I wasn't feeling that bad, I just sounded like a man. Geoff and Joe were making burgers, and they had already gotten me veggie patties so I went over to visit for a bit. Then we played Star Wars Battlefront - I love that game :] The thing was, I usually play with an invincibility cheat because it's fun to just run up to people with a lightsaber and not worry about health, so it was weird actually dying in the game. But I beat them both in kills one round! I was super excited :]
Saturday I was scheduled to work a sound shift, and I said nope, I was still sick. Thankfully it was in the faculty lounges, where it's an easy set up. Normally if I'm on sound in there I'll help with the food because there's nothing for me to do all shift until I tear it back down. I told my coordinator that I would come set everything up but I shouldn't be around food so I left again pretty quick before I could get anyone else sick.
GABS was playing at a thing in the Mollenkopf center (football practice facility) where special needs people int he community could come and throw footballs and twirl batons, it was really fun :] It was also a beautiful day!
After that, it was Reed's 21st birthday on Thursday, so that Saturday evening she had a party at her place :] We watched the football games and played some drinking games, except I was driving so I just had water. Which was entertaining, being the only sober person in the room :]
Sunday I got to sleep in! Until 9. I didn't have anything to do, and I was finally feeling better - you never know how much you like your own voice until a cold holds it hostage - so I played some Lego Star Wars and watched football all morning. I needed some things from Target, though, and when I went outside it was raining ice (not hailing - raining ice). It was gross, I was glad I had been walking with a tuba the previous day and not in that.
That evening at Wesley was Mario's last sermon - he leaves for Boston tomorrow. We're really going to miss him around here.
We had chapter - where it's still weird to see my name as Finances Committee Chair - and then I watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with Geoff - we both enjoy that movie and were laughing :]
Today It's been really cold. I got up to workout and go to classes, staying indoors as much as possible. My face hurts when I step outside, it was that bitter. And I personally think that there comes a point when your health should come before fashon - when you're wearing tights, fashon ankle boots and a peacoat outside when it's in the low teens, I think you should take a serious look at your priorities. (Yes, I saw numerous people dresses like that today.) And then there's me in my coat, jeans and two pairs of socks - otherwise my toes would freeze in my running shoes.
We had a Wesley exec meeting to figure out a few things to start the year rolling, and I've got orchestra later. Other than that, I've got homework to get done. With being off and then being sick, it's hard to get back in the swing of this blogging thing - sorry for the slightly delayed post.
Happy 2013 - congrats on surviving yet another apocalypse! :D
