Good vendor of shoes!

So I was watching this http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=T2amZSYjt6Q#t=2170s and cracked up at this part, till about 37.40 or so (it starts at 36.10). That's where the title comes from :]
On Monday classes started - crazy. And I could understand all of my professors so that was a definite bonus :D
The annoying thing was online last week it said that there was no info recieved for the MA362 book. However, when I checked after my professor said there was a book, the info was there. I was annoyed.
But then was orchestra - and there were so many basses! I'm playing bass this semester, and normally we have about two, maybe three, but there are 5 of us in symphony and evidently philharmonic has 7. We were laughing about that :]
Tuesday in my 3 hour EAS lab slot we had a 1 hour lab, so that was nice. I got to eat my lunch before my STAT class and not rush. When my TA wrote her office location on the board, I was confused - it was HAMP and I wondered what the heck building that was. Evidently they renamed the Civil Engineering Building (formerly CIVL) to the Hampton building for civil engineering (or something similar). I'm glad my schedule said CIVL still, I would've had no idea where the deuce I was supposed to go.
And I'm retaking the STAT416 class I took last semester with a different teacher so hopefully this time around it goes better. So far so good.
My run was warm - it was a bit toasty outside. But then I got to have dinner and watch Pirates with Colleen so that was fun :D I miss not living with her, she's a great friend.
Wednesday I had class and then The Aristocats is out of the vault so I made a quick trip to Walmart for that - I love that movie :] I also got a haircut so my hair's back to the length I like it.
After orchestra there was a Welcome Back Bash thing for the bands so I went to see some of my brothers that I hadn't seen all summer. That was fun, but oh my goodness there were so many mosquitos! O.o Because of that, when I woke up on Thursday it looked like I had chicken pox on my legs (it still does on Sunday >.< ) However I only had one class that day so that was nice :D After that I went to Wesley to read in a hammock :] However, I finished Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and didn't know what next, I narrowed it down to Star Wars and decided to ask 'Kyle, do I want to read Thrawn or Xwing?' He said Xwing, so I'm going through those books now :]
We had our first COM exec meeting, and it went well. This semester should be good.
Unfortunately (that might not be the best word to use, but oh well) Kyle got a call and a job offer that afternoon, so now he's moving out again :[ It's good for him, and he'll be around, but a bunch of people (myself included) were excited about having him around for more time.
I went back to Agate and did some more reading, taking a break to have the house dinner.
Friday I'd planned on going to class and then going to see the Dark Knight Rises and having a movie afternoon/night. However, Instead I had some food and read an hour or so, then I had to start on homework.
Then, about 5 hours later, I said eff this, I want to stargaze! sO I drove out to the Robyne's and enjoyed the night sky with Geoff. That was nice :]
I don't remember walking into a tree Friday night, but Saturday morning I woke up with a scab on my chin - I'm all kinds of confused since I don't know how it happened. Kyle suggested that I slepwalked into my door, I said I walk into enough open doors that I'd believe it :]
I had work that evening, and it was two weddings. One of the weddings had a rather interesting toast - it wasn't the mother of the bride, but it might've been an aunt or something. She was slurring a bit (the bar had been open for an hour...) and recounted stories about the bride when she was younger, the quirky things she would do. Then she said something along the lines of 'I didn't think there would be anyone who could deal with you!' and continued. However, I missed the second half because I was still just processing what she'd just said. I'm sure she meant it to be funny, like the bride is unique and all, but it didn't quite come across like that. I texted my mom and dad asking them not to say something like that at my wedding... :]
Today I really did not want to wake up. I did mae it though, since I had work at 10.30. Then after that shift we had a staff meeting and then I had church and then was the COM meeting (which was remarkably efficient and good for a COM meeting) and after that I went to chapter and then after chapter a bunch of us went to Red Mango, so I left the house at 10 this morning and got back around 9.45 this evening. So now I plan on either reading or watching an episode of QI and passing out.
Football next week, I'm so excited!!! :D And Doctor Who series 7 starts next Saturday, so I need to remember to get my American Idiot ticket for Sunday. Next weekend's gonna be a good weekend :D
Peace out.

I'm baack :D

Hello again, everyone :D I hope y'all had a good summer, as you can tell by my lack of posts, I didn't so all that much. It was fun though.
So on Monday I felt rather producive. I went to pick up my textbooks and PASE thing - PASE is Purdue Alumni Student Experience and I get a shirt, glass and discounts at places because I'm a member. This year's shirt and glass have the Grand Prix on them - last year it was the Big Bass Drum and my freshman year featured the Old Oaken bucket, the trophy exchanged between us and IU to the winner of our rivalry game every year.
After my various errands, I set about to clean my room (or straighten it up anyways). And that was a success too! I had a rather good day, overall :]
Then it was time for our house dinner - and it's official that the ducts are actually going to be cleaned! Las t winter I had a case of the nosebleeds and I blame the air, so I'm rather excited that it most likely won;t happen again this winter :] And we learned that Kyle Hoos will most likely be back here for the semester :D I'm rather excited, he's a great guyh and fun to have in the house.
On Tuesday I went out for my run, then Shelly was going to run so I went out again with her. And about a quarter mile away from the house while running back, my legs suddenly really wanted to know what the hell I was thinking. I'm glad they didn't argue till the ending of the run, rather than the beginning :]
After that, I did nothing! I was messing around on my computer when I learned that David Tennant was on an episode of QI - how have I never seen this before?? I immediately watched that one, and it was pretty dang funny :] I love QI, it's one of my favourite shows, so it's unfortunate that I can't watch it on tv here - I have to rely on youtube.
Wednesday I had work at 6.30a so I was up at 5.25 - and I'm not sure I slept the best, I had a strange dream (that I couldn't remember once I woke up, just that it was odd). Work went well, and when I got back I got to sleep :D And then I watched some more British television - watching the one episode of QI yesterday got me in the mood so I watched some more :]
Thursday I really did nothing all morning, but then I had a sound shift at 4. Over the summer I was trained to be a sound technician, and I think we're short sound people because the last 10 or so shifts I've been scheduled for have been sound. I did pick up a normal catering shift for yesterday, and that felt weird :]
Friday I had another sound shift - only this one was for both ballrooms and their events were running pretty much simultaneously. That was super fun (more like eff my life). One group was a multicultural welcome event, and the other was a IU School of Medicine welcome thing (they have a campus in the area). The IU people were, how shall I say it, snooty. Whitch ticked me off. The multicultural group was great, it was fun listening to their speakers. But then they started a drumming thing and dancing, while the IU thing was still going and evidently the IU people weren't happy. Courtney, the coordinator, Casey, another sound person/waiter captain, and I were all having just so much fun with them.
When I got back to A-gate, Kyle was here! It's official - he'a a part time Wesley intern for the semester while he continues the job search. However, due to the lovely time I had at work I wasn't in the best of moods, so I fled to my room. And watched some QI - Stephen Fry can fix my mood! :] (Don't jusge me, it worked :P )
Saturday We were all up early for the Aldersgate retreat - through the morning we talked and got to know one another, as well as made decisions about the house and various rules. When we introduced ourselves around the circle, I said that something I was looking forward to was watching football with Kyle again - I'm sure y'all remember how interesting some of those stories were :D
I had another 2-ballroom sound shift, but they were two weddings which was easy peasy - I just set up 2 wireless microphones and made sure that it sounded good when people were talking into them.
After that, I went to a drumline party with Geoff. That was interesting, it was a pretty small apartment so half of the party was outside. And that makes it three college parties I've ever been to - woo! I'm on a roll :D
Sunday I had to open my violin for the first time since it had been sitting in my un-airconditioned room all summer. I'd put it off as long as possible because I was legitimately scared of what I would find, like I was afraid that my violin would be in pieces.
Thankfully, it wasn't. The bow lost a bit of hair (and by a bit, I mean like half) so that will have to be replaced earlier than anticipated, but that's really not as bad as I'd been fearing. (I have a picture up on facebook if you want to see it).
I had yet another sound shift, and this one was extra boring. I just set up a mic and background music and then turned down the music when someone was speaking and turned it back up when no one was.
Woot O.o
Wesley had our first service of the year yesterday - yay :D I played violin with Amanda during the hymn (which is why I had to open it yesterday and couldn't wait three more months :] )
And I officially have the best Big ever :D Larn sent a message to me, Brent, Billy and Jason (the ones of the family that start classes today) that she had a present for us. Since we were the four that are still in school, I thought it would be a fun notebook or something similar.

Then we went to her apartment and saw these things, and it was so much better than what I'd thought :D I love my Big :] Apparently she Googled 'candy poem', which I thought was a pretty sweet search term, it made me giggle :]

I got back to Agate and after a bit of QI it was sleepy time for Carly - I've got class starting at 8.30 today.
And away we go...

Peace :D

You know, in retrospect I really don't have much of anything at all to share on a weekly basis, so I'll probably just update when I do something cool, like take a trip or blow up fireworks on July 4th or something. Once summer band starts up, I could share what we're going to be playing maybe.
I'll see y'all in August :D

I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.

-Jorge Luis Borges
I like that quote :]
So just so y'all know, I'm probably going to have fewer and shorter entries over the summer - I haven't really been doing very much so I don't have much to share. Maybe like every other week or so.
A few Wednesdays ago (the 16th) I did some reading and watched Sense and Sensibility in the morning before heading across the river to explore downtown Lafayette with Amanda. That was fun :] and then I went to get a haircut and some Panera for dinner before walking to Happy Hollow Park - and it was pretty nifty. I could get used to this - it was like a state park with trails and streams. I enjoy it :]
On Thursday I did some reading before my 3.30 shift. And that was an interesting one. I had one training shift on Tuesday, and then Thursday I was scheduled on my own. That was fun. I made it through, though, and it worked out.
Friday until about 5 went something like this:
+nothing
+nothing
+playing Kingdom Hearts all day because I'm bored out of my mind
That was fun :] However, at 5 we had a cook out at the house. Some people came over who would be leaving for the summer (on a mission trip to Africa or to an internship in Oregon) and that was nice to see them. A few of us went to a park nearby and then we played Scattegories - that was interesting. Christian and Payton and Seth enjoyed arguing the various words.
Saturday we all went garage saleing :] I was with Christian and we chose to end our day at the Lafayette farmers' market. Through the day I got a book and a dress and some cupcakes - I was happy :D
And then we cleaned for 5 and a half hours. Payton and Christian worked on the lawn and bushes outside while Seth and I worked on the second floor common room. That was fun, discovering how many dust bunnies and things from a long while ago were still in there. The shower I took after was great. I debated whether I wanted to eat in or go get some food. I wound up chosing Chipotle - then I would have food the next day - and we watched Armageddon to celebrate our hard work :]
When I woke up at 10 on Sunday it was 77 degrees - it's gonna be a toasty one. I decided to eat lunch (the rest of my Chipotle) and read on the lawn outside. That was really nice - it was a beautiful (if hot) day. And Geoff and I are ofiicially dating, so I had two calls raher close togeter from my mom and cousin and aunt :]
Seth and I had talked about seeing The Avengers again, so that night we went. And I enjoyed it just as much, if not more :D
When we got back, Liz and Mariah came over before they both leave (Liz is the one going to Africa and Mariah's going to Oregon). It was nice to see them again :]
Monday I beat Kingdom Hearts II :D and now I don't know what to play to kill time. That was around 10.30 so the rest of the day I listened to my Jimmy Buffett playlist and read and played sudoku and crosswords. I only made it to song 132 of 322 - you'd think my family was made up of parrotheads or something... :]
Tuesday I worked at 12 and when my trainer saw that I'd already worked a shift on my own and left me to it, knowing that I could ask her if I had any questions. No one knows what the hell is going on with my training, least of all me. After my shift, Elizabeth (another new hire who I've been training with) and I took our quizzes - we're official! :D
After Casey's (another employee) evening shift, a few of us gathered hang at Katie's apartment to hang. And when they discovered that I hadn't played Portal, I got to play :] It's a fun game.
Wednesday I had work and this time I could actually eat - there was a veggie lasagna :D
I was done at 2.30 and decided afterwards that a trip to the mall was in order. And it was a successful trip - I got a fun new dress, the first Iron Man movie and a Cinnabon :]
I have a plan to get Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers (once that one is out) and marathon them on a day when I need distraction. I'm now 1/4 of the way there :]
That evening, I watched A Very Potter Musical :D It's a spoof of Harry Potter, and I thouroughly enjoy it.
Thursday I watched Eddie Izzard in the morning - he's a British comedian and I have a rather British sense of humor :]
I started to pack a bit for the weekend, and Seth and I watched V for Vendetta that afternoon. Before and after the house dinner I worked on some of my Harry Potter fanfiction. However, at the house dinner Glen said I was more of a man than the guys, and the best part was that wasn't the first time I've been told I was more masculine than a guy friend :D
Friday I finished packing and watched Beauty and the Beast before my family arrived to pick me up to go to Virginia for the weekend. My cousin Kenny was graduating high school and most of the whole family was going to their house to attend.
It's a 9 hour drive from West Lafayette to Blacksburg, and so it was 2 in the morning when we got there.
Saturday morning I got to hang with family - I love my family :D - and then we went to Roanoke to watch Kenny's race. I've wanted to see him run for four years now, so I was really happy when I learned that we'd be going to his regional meet. He ran the 800, and he had to be in the top 6 to qualify for state. He was in the first heat and we had all spread out along the track to cheer for him, and during the second we were all counting times to see whether he'd be in the top 6.
And he was! He qualified for state! And he ran the time that he needed to in order to get a spot on the 4x800 team! It was super exciting - especially that we were all there to see it. Since we can't return next weekend to see the state meet, we've informed my uncle and aunt that we want a video recoring of the races next week :]
That evening, we all went to his graduation and decided to be 'that family' that made a ton of noise when he walked across the stage. And we did :D
The family was hanging around and talking, and when others went to sleep it was Melissa, my mom and Aunt Kathleen that stayed up even later to talk.
On Sunday we got up and walked the three dogs that were in the house and got some breakfast. The younger cousins went to the pool, and I was chilling on the deck with Melissa and my dad and Uncle Mark. It was bloody hot, so we were following the shade as the sun moved around. Then Uncle Jon went and got another umbrella so we had more shade, and then he found two more so we had an umbrella fort going on :D That was fun. It was a lazy afternoon, and more than a few of us took a nap :]
We were invited to a graduation party at friend's house, so we went there to spend the evening. That was fun, and they did a nifty thing where we wrote messages to the graduation seniors on a floating lantern and those seniors launched them. Melissa and I agree that we want to have those at our weddings :]
Yesterday (was it really only yesterday?) we got up and got ready to go quickly - it was an 11 hour drive for my family and 12 for the Bogdas. It was a good drive to West Lafayette - there wasn't really any traffic or delay. When back in WLaf, we went to get some Chipotle and then my parents and brother finished their drive home.
I ad planned on enjoy the a/c while listening to Pride and Prejudice and playing solitaire or sudoku, and I was looking forwad to it, but too bad it's a common room. There was a basketball game (that I dind't really watch) Christian was watching and then Family Guy and muted Kung Fu Panda while talking with Seth. That was nice too, getting to talk with them.
Today I don't know what I'm going to do - I was planning on volunteering to get money taken off my rent (the perks of living in a church-owned house :] ) but I don't think the building is open so I'll try again tomorrow.
Peace.

Pull the lever, Kronk. Wrong lever!

So last Monday (the 7th) I was up at 5.44am with the second loudest crack-boom of thunder ever. So now that I'm up with everyone and their mother between here and Muncie... it was a little intense.
And I had nothing to do in the morning, so I got up again at 8.44 to read till 11 :D
Amanda and I got together to workout at about 12.30 - I biked - and then we, along with Kyle and Jake, filled Seth's room with balloons :D That was fun, though I think I got a blister and then skinned the blister from tying so many - it hurt and still does.
After, I mostly chilled in the second floor common room. After a while, we watched Tropic Thunder - it's so horrible it's funny :]
Tuesday I spent the morning reading again - I could get used to this :D
Amanda and I got together to workout again, this time I did my interval workout. Afterwards, we went mini golfing with Seth :] That was super fun, it was an indoor place over in Lafayette.
Seth and I got some pizza and watched the new Three Musketeers movie - the one with Matthew McFayden and Orlando Bloom. It wasn't the best movie ever, but I enjoyed it :] After that, we watched Pirates of the Caribbean and the Curse of the Black Pearl. Two movies in a row with Orlando Bloom = happy Carly :D
Wednesday I pretty much just played Kingdom Hearts. I went to the Columbia Park Zoo with Amanda for a bit, but mostly it was Kingdom Hearts all day. Later on in the afternoon (I did eventually stop, this was after that), Amanda and Eric came over for Seth to look at Amanda's computer. Ashlee (Kyle's girlfriend) was over for the weekend and graduation and all, so once Payton joined us with his extra controllers it turned into a Halo party :] However, I missed most of it since Geoff called and if I had stayed he really wouldn't've been able to hear anything I was saying...
Thursday I really had nothing to do all day - I had orientation for catering at 4 in the afternoon, but that was the start of my day really. So I played Kingdom Hearts and read and packed a bit. Yay, boredom...
Then it was orientation time. We learned the dress code and general layout of the behind the scenes places in the Union. Evidently we're not supposed to have excessive jewelry, and I guess 4 rings might be slightly excessive... Heh. When I got back to the house, we had a house dinner and then I hit the road to drive home!
Friday morning I woke up and I was home! :D It's a pretty sweet feeling.
My parents had work and my brother had school, so I spent some time clearing out my desk and bookshelf (otherwise known as my mini library :D ). I decided to turn on The Princess and the Frog in Spanish - I hadn't seen that movie in a while. My mom was working a shorter day, so partway through I stopped to go to lunch and Kohl's with my madre. For work, I needed to get black pants and shoes, so we got some of those. After, we watched Pride and Prejudice and retied my Purdue fleece blanket that was inside out. We both love Pride and Prejudice, and have been wanting to see the 1995 BBC mini-series version, so I got it and we started watching that together. Ricky had a lacrosse game that evening, so we went to that (they lost :[ ) and after we mostly just chilled and watched TV.
Saturday Ricky had a lacrosse tournament all day - 3 games. They got third place too :D That was fun. We went to church that evening, and had Macaroni Grill for dinner, then I watched some more Pride and Prejudice with my mom :D
Sunday it was Mother's Day! And that meant that we were going to the Sox game! :D I was rather excited, even though mom isn't necessarily fond of baseball... :]
It was supposed to be chilly, but we were in the sun the entire time so it was rather toasty. I got a nice tan on my arms though :D And some sweet rubber band and ring tans...
Unfortunately, the Sox lost :[ At least I got to see AJ play :D He didn't start, but they brought him out in the 8th inning.
After the game we went to Heaven on Seven. Yay Louisiana food! My mom and dad and I really enjoyed it, though my brother seemed to not care quite so much - he had ribs while I had beans and rice :]
My mom and I finished up Pride and Prejudice that evening, yay happy endings! :]
Yesterday I washed my car with my dad in the morning, Buckbeak looks so nice again :D He was slightly overdue...
We went to Costco to get some provisions, then I figured I should probably get my stuff together to drive back to school... So I read some more :]
On the drive, I didn't hit too much traffic once I got around the city - the 355 was insane, but thankfully once that branched off of the highway I took it was pretty smooth.
And I made it back safe, though I had work at 8.30 the next morning so I got my stuff put away and went to sleep.
Today I got up at 6.30 and made sure to leave for the Union early so that I could find my way through the labrynth of tunnels that led to where I needed to meet my trainer. And yes, I did get slightly lost... Heh.
We set everything up, and then mostly just cleared things from the tables since it was a buffett style lunch. And hopefully I'll remember all of what I was taught - I tend not to do so well when I'm just thrown all the information I'll ever have to know for the job in one day...
We finished up at 3, and when I got back to the house, I didn't want to get up once I sat down. However, I had to go to Walgreens and Chase so I managed. And now Seth, Payton and I are watching The Emperor's New Groove :D I love this movie, and that's where my title came from.
Tonight, I'm prob going to sleep well - I was on my feet for 6 hours (we got a half hour break to eat - unfortunately the meal was chicken and beef so I had bread, carrots and spuds). Till then, I'm going to read and relax in the second floor common room - it's got an a/c so it's nice and comfy :]
Peace.

Sunday, May 6, 2012

Ooh, pretty boys :D

So on Monday in between studying and stressing for my Stat final, I had an interview for a job with the Union Catering. And it was nice when I got an email at 5.30 that evening - Carly's got a job! :D
And then there was the final. At least I got a job to make some moneys over the summer.
Tuesday I went to brunch at Wesley and then I needed to turn in paperwork at the union. I needed my birth certificate or social security card, so I had my mom send me a copy of my birth certificate. Then I got to the office and discovered that they need an original. Heh, too bad that's all in Illinois... However, the woman in the office told me that there's a social security building over on Second Street in Lafayette, so I got to take a nice walk :D
Once I was finished with all that, it was Harry Potter movie day in the second floor common room :D I was also on Pottermore brewing potions :]
We had one last family dinner for the year planned out, but then Billy couldn't come because he was sick :[ Jason, Larn, Brent and I still had fun :]
Wednesday I was up before a lot of people, and the early bird gets the TV :] So I got to play some Kingdom Hearts! And then study for a bit, I took yesterday off since my next final wasn't till Friday morning.
So at convention, Larn and I got matching iron-on letters. We decided to make some sweatpants with them, so that afternoon we went to Walmart to get the sweats and then to her place to get an iron. And when I got back to the house, Seth was playing Skyrim. And I got to wear my sweatpants already - it's cold in my spot right next to the air conditioner.
For the past 2 weeks or so, I haven't really been eating because I just haven't been hungry at all - I think I stressed myself into a lack of a appetite. Then, on Wednesday, I ate dinner and realised that I ate three meals that day! I was rather proud of myself.
Thursday was our semester Lord of the Rings study marathon. We started at 9.30, and got free food from Wesley, yay! :D During the first movie, Lisa, Julia and I started a conversation about the cute guys in the movie and it turned into a facebook conversation involving us three, Mariah, Seth and Kyle, all of whom were in the same room. That was funny, and I claimed Legolas :D
For dinner, Seth, Kyle and I split some Domino's pizza, breadsticks and some of those bread bite things. We devoured that in about five minutes, I think we were hungry... :]
And we started at 9.30 in the morning, so at 8.50 Seth and I left... heh. (Kyle had gone to play Ultimate.)
When we got back to the house, Michigan was playing football against Notre Dame - why? We were kinda confused, apparently it was the Big Ten Network's Game of the Week or something. And it was a good game - all the scoring happened in the last quarter. Kyle's a Michigan fan, so he knew he game and was happy to watch it again :]
I had a final at 8 the next morning, and that meant I wanted to get up at 6, so I actually got to sleep before midnight. Crazy, I know :]
Friday I did get up at 6 and did some last minute looking over of my notes before it was test time. It wasn't too bad, and I got to get some more brunch at Wesley :D
Julia and I had been talking about Beastly during Lord of the Rings, so we went over to her room to watch after eating. It's a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast, and Neil Patrick Harris was hilarious in it :D Not to mention, Alex Pettyfer was rather beautiful ;]
As I walked back to my house from Meredith, everyone was getting ready to leave. And I'm not going to be leaving. It's a very weird feeling...
I had the TV again, so it was time for more Kingdom Hearts! About 3 hours of it :] I switched off with Seth after a while, he wanted to play some Skyrim so I got to watch :]
For a while now, Seth has had these super old and useless computers he's been playing with. We've been planning on bashing them with a sledge hammer, so Friday night Jake, Kyle, Seth and I had a destress computer smash-up. That was fun :D
After, I did some reading while they played Halo - and I had another 8am final the next day so it was bedtime before midnight once more.
Saturday when I woke up I enjoyed complainging a bit about my finals schedule - 2 on Saturday morning! That was half of my finals O.o However, they only took half an hour each, heh. And now I'm halfway done with my undergrad time at college. Wow.
I don't know why I had so much time where no one was using the TV, but I managed to keep being the only one in the room so I played more Kingdom Hearts :D Kyle woke up around 1, when I was going to stop anyway, so I switched out with him and did some reading. I finally finished the two library books I've had on my kindle since February (or so) - so I can get new ones! Yay :D (I couldn't connect to the internet before since then my kindle would realise that the loan on those books was expired.)
At 4, people started coming over to get some food and hang before going to the theater.
And then we went to see The Avengers! I loved the movie! I'm such a geek, but that's ok :] Some of the girls were talking about who is the cutest in the group, the choice was generally between Thor and Captain America. (My vote was Thor, in case you were wondering ;] )
We got back to the house and the three systems of Halo started up. That was intense, there were 8 or 9 people playing.
Those of us who weren't played some Bang! :] And I was obnoxiously tired, so I only played one game before heading up to bed.
Today I got up at my normal time on weekends (8.44) and curled up on a couch to read till about 11. And now I need a new book again (story of my life). I have nothing to do today, so I went for a short interval workout (run/walk for however long a certain amount of times). That was nice.
I cleaned up my room and sorted through my school stuffs while watching Tangled :D And now I'm writing this while watching the end. I don't know what I'm going to do with the rest of my day, maybe I'll go take a walk around Happy Hollow Park (a park up the street I'm on). I guess we'll see what happens :]
Peace.

Number one way to make you look innocent: Run away from the cops as fast as you can.

Blogger's got a new look - it confused me when I first logged on.
And hey, I'm actually getting to this on time (my usual time anyways) :D
Friday (like last Friday, the 20th) I had class and it was a narsty day. We didn't have CS, so I was done at 2.30 :D That was nice.
At 6.30 I went to see the Hunger Games with Geoff. He enjoyed the fact that a baker was named Peeta (like Pita bread :] ). We went to the Battle of the Bands thing on Slayter Hill (a Grand Alternative event) after, it was chilly though. We both agreed that it should be warmer at the end of April.
As a point of clarification, last week was Grand Prix week - basically the week of the heaviest drinking on campus all year. This is why there's Grand Alternative events all week - to promote not drinking. The free pancakes we got on Wednesday after Third Degree was a Grand Alternative event.
Saturday I got up at 8.45 and decided to read for a while. A while meant I was in bed till 11, heh, oops :] The Grand Prix race was that day, but I had to do laundry and get some groceries so I decided against it. I did get a bit done though.
My great great grandbig (I think, Jason's grandbig so Larn's great grandbig, so yeah I got it), Dana, was in town so we had a family dinner (minus Billy, his family was in town for the concerts). Jason and Dana are dating, so she was in town to see him. It was cool getting to meet her :] It was a weekend of concerts, and  Saturday night was the one that Billy, Larn and Brent were in. They're all in the same band - I'm the family black sheep. Frank Ticheli was a guest conductor for all of their bands, he conducted the pieces that he composed. During the last band (3 played that evening), Ticheli was conducting Vesuvius and partway through he threw his baton. I was cracking up :D
After the concerts, I went back to agate and read a bit while watching NCIS and CSI with Kyle.
Sunday I did some homework before I had to get ready for my concert. When I did go to get ready, I discovered that I seem to have gotten taller recently - my orchestra dress doesn't fit anymore. So I put on my black skirt with a black tank top and cardigan-type thing. I got some compliments, so I guess it worked :]
Our rehearsal was at 1 (I got a pretty sweet parking spot too :D ), and then the concert started at 2.30 - our section went pretty well. It was fun :] I stayed to help with taking things down after Philharmonic - and they just keept playing! I think they played an entire symphony. It was good, though :]
I went straight from Elliott to church, and then after the COM meeting there was Psi elections. I was really looking forward to just being able to relax the rest of the evening, when I realised that I forgot to go to Walgreens for some drugs so I went in my sweats. I think that was the first time I went somewhere (not like driving to IL) in my sweats since I went to London. I had to dress nicer every day in London, so now I can't go out in public in sweats, I have to at least put jeans on.
Monday it was back to class, and between classes I went to hang in Elliott.
Lana told us that Liz would be coming over to check out the house, so we had a cleaning party :] Seth, Kyle and I got the second floor common room looking spiffy - we agreed that Lana should tell us that someone is coming every week :]
We had one last short orchestra meeting, then Seth and I went to join the dinner party at Mariah's. We made pizzas and played this game called Quelf - it's a game where anything can happen, really. I'm not outgoing, so I didn't do the ones where you had to act out something. Yet, somehow I won... That was interesting.
Seth and I stopped by Walmart after to get some cleaning supplies for the house - this summer we're planning on doing some serious cleaning.
Tuesday's CS lab was a joke - we took a survey thing and played this game that was supposed to explain recursion to us but was actually rather confusing. We were done in a half an hour. It was awesome :D
I went to hang at Wesley for the afternoon, I got some free food and a massage :D One thing about me, I will never turn down a back massage or rub. Never.
For Psi, our service project this semester was repainting room 30 in Elliott, so I went to help out there after COM exec. I was doing the detailing around where the rollers couldn't get, and that meant that I wound up on the floor painting the underside of these things that are on the walls to help with the acoustics. And Larn is petite, so she got to get up on top of cabinets to paint. We had fun :] After, we all went to dinner at Wiley. Unfortunately for me, since Wiley is the meat-house. Oh well, they also have a make-your-own pasta thing. So it worked out :]
Once dinner was done, I went to Hicks to work on the presentation with my Com group - we had to give a 20 minute presentation (our topic was storm myths) and when we first timed it, it was 13 min. Oops... However, we'd hit the point where we weren't going to be able to get much more done, so we split off to work on our own thing. I was so bloody tired, so I set an early alarm and went to bed.
Wednesday I had to dress nicer for the speech. Then I just about passed out in Spanish I sould probably work at getting more sleep. Except that just keeps not happening...
In Com, my group gave our presentation, in 19.30 - blast! We were so close! Though considering we made the jump up from 13 min, it was pretty good :]
I got a bagle to snack on from the union, and it was nice outside so I enjoyed my bagel by the fountain (though not that close, it was breezy and I didn't feel like getting misted every time the wind blew).
After Stat, I went to Wesley and chilled there for a bit. I played Egyptian (Egyptian Rat Screw) with Seth and Lisa, that was fun :] I wear four rings on a daily basis, so I took the two off my right hand so I didn't hurt anyone :]
I've been reading a book called A Breath of Snow and Ashes - it's the latest one in the Outlander series that my mom and I really like. There's this one line that I really like:
'Frenchmen often invoked vegetables when cursing, not infrequently mingled with sacred references. English cursing generally had nothing to do with saints, sacramants, or cucumbers, but dealt with God, whores, or excrement.'
Heehee, it made me laugh when I read it :]
No orchestra meant that I didn't have to rush home just to leave again! Yay! :D
We had an impromptu movie night - we watched The Prestige. I love that movie :]
Thursday morning was class and hanging in Elliott. Then the afternoon started with lunch with Larn and Jason. I'm so glad that they're both going to be here over the summer too, we can still get together :]
After the house dinner, I was going to go to Party City with Julia to get some luau stuffs for the senior banquet... except it was closed. We got there at 8.10, and it closed at 8. Curses! We rescheduled to the next day and when I got back to Agate I was one of very few people there. So I queued up How to Train Your Dragon to watch while working on Stat homework and called to talk with my family first :D Apparently Papa was there too, he's going to be leaving right before I get back, and he says it's because he knew I'd be coming back and wanted to make sure he'd be gone before that. Thanks, Papa, I love you too! :P
A few people came back while I was still talking, so it was Kyle, Payton and I in the room when I started up the movie. Jake came in and watched some, but then he insisted that he was actually not going to stay the whole time and so didn't sit down. Once that was done, Kyle asked what was next. I had Lion King next to me since I was debating between that and How to Train Your Dragon, so we started that one up next. Seth joined us during that time, and Jake came back, this time to stay for the whole movie. Then, once that one was done (of course I quoted half the movie, you even have to ask? :P ), we wanted to keep with the Disney theme and so Lady and the Tramp was next. Yay for spontaneous Disney nights! :D
Unfortunately, that meant it was 3 in the morning wen I went to sleep. Remember what I said about getting more sleep? Yeah, that's been going just so well...
Friday I had four classes, but only made it to two. I knew I was going to skip one to get some luau stuffs with Julia, and once we got back I wouldn't be able to get to my last class so I just stayed to set up at first church (I asked someone in each class I missed to see if there was anything I needed to know). Then it was time for the senior banquet. I was kinda nervous, if anything went wrong, it was on me since I planned it. But it went smoothly, and people seemed to enjoy it, so I guess it worked.
While I was there, my Psi brothers were at activation banquet. So, at one point during the evening I got back to back texts from Billy and Brent - Billy's was first: 'I miss you!', closely followed by Brent's: 'I miss you more!' I'm pretty sure I had a huge smile on my face, it was sweet :]
I woke up yesterday to a thunderstorm - but hey, the downspout that had been lying across the roof outside my window was fixed a few days ago so it was working :D
We had final chapter, where the seniors give senior rants - they talk about people and chapter. I knew I was going to cry during Larn's, and so that was fun. Both Mike and Mark seem to think that I should talk more... you'd think I was quiet or something. Though Mark also said 'Congratulations on being everything Brent is not, Larn needed a saving grace.' Hee, I love my twin! :] Though the best compliment (not counting my Big's section) I recieved was from Watergate (Chris - the one who delivered my bid and one of the ones I drove to convention). He said that I was a great driver, and that I have a heart of gold. I was touched.
It was fun, but also rather long - we started at 10 and finished up at 3. We were all rather hungry. A bunch of people went to El Rodeo, but I have no moneys so I went home to eat.
So it's Eric's birthday today, so a bunch of people got together yesterday to celebrate. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings, then then lazer tag and Nine Irish Brothers. (I just had water through these, and I didn't join the lazer tagging since I still didn't have money). However, after that we went to Eric's apartment to play Halo! That was super fun, and he got to take a birthday shot at midnight :]
Today I woke up at 9.30 - whoa, sleeping in! Today was also Jazz on the Hill - the Purdue jazz bands played at Slayter. I went to watch with Becca and Geoff and some other Psi brothers showed up too.
When I got back to Agate, Seth was asleep. I made dinner, and in that time he woke up so we watched Star Wars :] I went to play Ultimate, and Steph was there! She's been on co-op this semester. I went overto get a hug between points during the first game and then got a headache after so sat out the second and talked with her. That was nice, I missed her :]
Back in Agate, Seth was watching SVU, that's where my title came from :]
Indiana Jones just finished, and I think that we're going to watch Iron Man in about 20 min when it comes on :]
And my stat final is tomorrow night. The nervous breakdown is coming...
Here goes.
